THE NEXT 50 YEARS: BUILDING A LEGACY

Connecting with Scotland’s Celtic Spirit

For 50 years, NHSCOT has celebrated the rich traditions of Scotland, bringing the vibrant history, arts, music, dance, food and drink, and athletics of this remarkable culture to the people of New England and beyond.

With your help, we now have an opportunity to build a permanent home for these programs, ensuring that future generations can experience and celebrate Scottish heritage in meaningful ways.

The Vision: A Cultural Center for Generations

NHSCOT’s $3.7 million capital campaign will enable the purchase and transformation of an existing camp property into a thriving Scottish cultural and activity center. Located in Concord, NH, this property will serve as:

A New Cultural Hub:

A year-round center for Scottish music, dance, athletics, Gaelic language programs, and other cultural activities.

Administrative Headquarters:

Providing a stable home base for NHSCOT’s operations, improving efficiency and long-term financial sustainability.

A Destination for Events:

Hosting additional events and workshops that bring the community together and showcase Scottish traditions. While the Highland Games and Festival will continue to thrive at Loon Mountain, this new site will allow NHSCOT to expand its reach and impact with complementary programs and activities.

Motivating Factors: Why Now?

Saving Money

Owning a property reduces rental, storage, and event venue costs, freeing up resources for program expansion and improvements.

Creating a “Home Base”

A permanent location anchors NHSCOT’s physical presence in New England, providing a consistent and welcoming space for cultural exchange, education, and celebration.

Expanding Our Reach

The property will enable year-round programs, camps, and workshops that engage a wider audience and deepen connections to Scottish heritage and the many current ways we celebrate Scottish values and character.

Local and Regional Impact

This project will also serve as a catalyst for local and state economic growth, including:

Boosting Tourism

Visitors from across the region and beyond will travel to Concord for programs, events, and workshops, supporting local hotels, restaurants, and businesses.

Job Creation

From construction and maintenance to staff for programs and events, the new center will generate employment opportunities in Concord and surrounding areas.

Strengthening Community

The center will foster partnerships with local schools, organizations, and businesses, creating shared opportunities for cultural enrichment, youth athletic development, and education for all ages.

THE TIME TO ACT IS NOW

The property we’ve identified offers a unique and rare opportunity: it is well-suited for our needs, centrally located, and has the potential to be transformed into a vibrant cultural destination. However, this opportunity is time-sensitive. To secure this property and bring our vision to life, we need your support.

Your Role in Shaping the Future

We invite you to join us in building a lasting legacy for Scottish heritage in New England. Every gift—large or small—makes a difference and helps bring us closer to preserving and sharing Scottish traditions for future generations, creating a permanent cultural home that strengthens community connections, and driving economic and cultural growth in Concord and beyond.

By contributing to this campaign, you are not just supporting a property; you are investing in a vibrant future for Scottish culture and its enduring impact on our community.
