Sheep Dog Trials
On Friday mornings at the New Hampshire Highland Games & Festival, sheep dogs and sheep take center stage on the athletic field. Each handler directs his dog to guide a packet of sheep through a group of obstacles in the fastest time possible to win the right to have their names added to the Campbell Cup trophy. While the competition is open to any breed, Border Collies are the most common. For centuries farmers living in the Scottish Border hills have bred these dogs known for their intelligence, physical strength, agility, and stamina. Don’t miss seeing these amazing animals as they go through their paces!
